What is the InterFaith Film Festival? The Interfaith Film Festival, produced by the InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington and Seltzer Film and Video, will be launched in early 2008. At our three-day film festival, we will screen thought provoking films with religious and interfaith content. The perspectives and issues presented in these films will be the impetus for further discussion and dialogue. Therefore, we are inviting filmmakers and community members to lead discussions and answer questions after the films are screened. What is the mission of the InterFaith Film Festival? The mission of the Interfaith Film Festival is to unite people from the many faith communities in the Washington DC metropolitan area and to engage them in dialogue and discussion about issues of religious diversity and freedom through film. What type of films will be showing at the Festival? The Interfaith Film Festival will consist of three unique evenings with focus on the following themes: DAY 1: Challenges to Religious Freedom DAY 2: The Struggle for Peace and Reconciliation DAY 3: Freedom or Oppression: Women and Religion Each evening screening will feature both pre- and post-program receptions and/or discussions. Why should you sponsor the InterFaith Film Festival? As a 501(c)3 organization, the InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington depends on donors to support its integral work. Sponsoring the inaugural InterFaith Film Festival will give you the opportunity to support the InterFaith Conference’s effort to introduce the medium of film as a tool for achieving its goals.
